Neither for Nor against…

With regards to incidents going around the Arab world… & Since I belong to this country where alot of unrest is going on for a month now..  I planned to jot down my thoughts about the situation..Neither for not against!!

Kingdom of Bahrain… A small dot on the map… But believe me a very fast growing country… A country with hospitality… peace…tradition with a tinge of Westernization… Modernization…  Growing standard of Living, & a very fast growing level of Education…

Long long time back .. it was called a deserted island.. and still is.. for the people who haven’t been here for long….They say .. countries like Bahrain are boring..

But believe me… once you start staying here.. you just need to find ways of socializing… .. its wierd.. small.. quiet..and almost nothing to do.. but these things get sorted out once you make new friends.. join societies..clubs… go around exploring places and people… A place is never boring when you find ways to keep yourself on your toes **

I got my first job through a workshop related to Public Speaking.. networking anyway does wonders…!!

With the present condition.. .. the people protesting have been facing alot of indifferences, partiality in the government offices, and different areas of the societies. They had been expressing their problems with the government, but very silently before by just burning tires in certain isolated areas. But now, Due to the conflicts around in the other Arab countries.. they got an opportunity to speak for themselves.. for their families… They have the right to fight…. and they did a peaceful one… Even when they were protesting, they took responsibility of the traffic… the way they coordinated with their protests and government rules, was just commendable… For instance… if they were protesting on a highway to their way to the Pearl Square (where were residing during their protests)..they make it a point to not be an obstacle with the moving vehicles.. they protested on one lane of the highway..and let the cars safely drive through the other….

Until one day when things got heated up… the government requested them to leave the pearl square and that the higher officials of Bahrain would like to have a dialogue with them… maybe some didnot want to.. and things became worse since then when 7people of those protests died due to an on-site shooting order by the King, due to the ongoing protests…. These protests though being peaceful, started to make a large impact on the ongoing economy, the education of the students, the  businesses as individual sectors, the tourism, etc,. No one would want to enter a country with protests, no matter how peaceful… And slowly it does affect the people, the expatriates, the tourists, the citizens themselves…

And now after all these days of protests- its been a month now… the 14th February 2011 Revolution..and today the 14th of March… What each and every person living on this land prays today is for peace and justice…

On a personal level I think, the protesters are also right , as they are fighting for their rights and justice…. if not today ..if not now, then when??.. this is an opportunity, for them to be heard.. if they step back.. for the rest of their lives they’ll have to bare more of indifferences & injustice by the other citizens, maybe worse than before!! On the other hand I also think.. these protests have been causing alot of unrest and more of a personal level animosity, even amongst those citizens who aren’t completely involved with the protests… The economy is not affected majorly but individual sectors of the country’s businesses are affected alot…

By me...

The only one thing we can actually pray for is peace and justice, which can be achieved with only mutual understanding and compromise by both the parties- Pro-government and Protesters…!! The decision has to keep both the parties satisfied but with conditions, because none need to suffer for any further issues in the future again…
